A Holiday Tour Through Terrain in Westport
Here’s a creative palette cleanse from one of my favorite retailers and a look at what’s trending this year.
I took a quick stroll through Terrain in Westport last week (it seems everything in my world is done “quickly” these days) on my way from a meeting. The creative minds at the Urban Outfitters owned store have not disappointed this year. Well, to be honest they never do.
Terrain, the sister company to Anthropologie, is always resplendent with woodsy glitz (yes that’s a thing) and lush texture, giving context to a holiday that can sometimes seem disconnected from the natural world.
Table Top Trends
The Floral Taper Candles shown here are just remarkable in their detail and design. Some are pricier than others, and most of the selections above are on sale right now. As you can see they blend beautifully with holiday decor, and will look beautiful for many seasons to come throughout 2024.
Ornaments For Every Hobby
The detail in some of these glass ornaments is really dazzling! The Broccoli Ornament for example is remarkable in the texture and color, and the Candy Dish (shown above on the shelf and below in my picks) is really something. You can click on any of the images below to shop them on the Terrain website.
Holiday Trend: Woodland Magic
If you’ve been to any decor store or flipped through some of the more interesting design catalogs you can’t miss the mushroom themed tabletop, linens, pillows, and art that’s been everywhere this year. The stunning mantle above feels like stepping into a magical cottage deep in an ancient wood. Very magical and fairytale like. Terrain has assembled all the pieces you see above onto a one-stop shop online along that makes getting this look very easy. Shop the Look
Don’t forget to include this adorable crew of felt creatures. These cuties can adorn your tree and then keep you company year round once the holidays are over. Click on the images below to shop these pals.
Potted Greens and Terrariums
If a Christmas Tree isn’t in the cards for your space this year, here are some ideas that will get you in holiday vibe. There are a myriad of reasons that you may not want a tree this year:
space issues
too much fuss and/or not enough time
will be out of town most of the holiday
not in the mood for a full blown tree
might be a danger to pets
not home enough
cost for the amount of time it’s up
Another alternative to a Christmas tree is an Ornament Box such as this elegant one that is casually draped with a faux pine branch and some fairy lights for extra interest.
